He-he, you said cow fart Here’s a factoid I heard today on CNN: yesterday during his inauguration speech Obama said that 44 people had taken the Oath of Office (since he’s the 44th President). However, Grover Cleveland was the 22nd and 24th President of the US, so really it’s been 43 people (including Obama).
And going off Marelisa’s comment, here’s another factoid that may or may not be true (I haven’t seen a story on it yet): Obama actually took the oath twice. Since the judge flubbed it the first time, he took it again yesterday at the White House. Unfortunately, it still means only 43 people took the oath…. And the one about Morgan Freeman? Totally true.
Never mind–should have checked the front page of Digg (of all places) before posting that comment. Apparently there is a news story about him taking the oath twice. Gotta love it.
It’s amazing to me that Pepsi is cashing in on Obama’s popularity. I’m not sure what to think about it, only that it is indeed genius. At least in terms of marketing.
Contributing to #2, I’d add that actresses who get into makeup to look “ugly” or male are more likely to win…nowadays anyway: Kate Winslet in The Reader where part of the time she plays an old lady (ok, nominated), Hillary Swank as a boxer and as a trans (sexual? transgendered person? not sure what the proper word for that role is), Nicole Kidman as Virginia Woolf in The Hours.
I feel like there’s someone I’m missing, but I can’t think of them now.
I wonder sometimes how hard it really is to play someone of a different sexual orientation (either way) compared to playing a romantic pairing with someone that you’re not interested in even if the pairing works with your orientation. Maybe depends on the actor or actress’s sexual security.

What? “Pepsi is currently attempting to profit off Barack Obama’s popularity.”??? But Coca Cola is The Real Thing.

I used to LOVE Who’s The Boss. Sometimes I miss my TV-watching, pre-blogging days.

Marelisa:I read about that recently. It’s fascinating that a president served non-consecutive terms. I can’t imagine that happening in today’s world.
Ryan: I’m hoping he takes the oath a third and fourth time, just for comedic effect.
Davina: Coca Cola is definitely the Real Thing!
Bamboo: I bet they are going to make a pretty penny by blatantly creating Obama inspired ads.
Vered: There certainly is something special about TV.
Ruth: You are definitely on to something.
