How Would You Redesign the Interior of the White House?

What do you know about the White House other than it being white?

Yeah, me neither…

Did you know there’s a staff position called, “Minister of Design”? This little known occupation is in charge of making interior changes.

I must admit, much of my motivation for writing this post is because I know many of McCain and Obama’s people are reading… Though I’d like to believe I was writing this exclusively for your reading pleasure, it would not be entirely accurate. By the time this post goes live, there is significant probability I will be expeditiously made Minister of Design.

My changes would revolutionize the White House.

Changes I plan on instituting:

3. Kangaroo with baby kangaroo in pouch

The perfect parent-child costume. Rock it like Kanga and Roo.

Dress up like a true American hero. And, if you’re feeling extra adventurous, round up a few of your favorite Founding Fathers and party like it’s 1776.

My costume of choice this year.

1. The Hamburglar

Absolutely nothing could be better than dressing up like the convict voted most likely to steal hamburgers 30 years in a row.

Seriously, it is simply unbeatable.

With the presidential election on the horizon, we hear much about how this leader or that leader will change the state of our Nation and our world.

But what about us…

Where do we fit into this big picture of changing this big world?

I’m here to argue that truly profound change can sweep the globe if we simply begin with ourselves.

Top 7 Fun U.S. Presidential Names

October 21st, 2008
Written by Flying LlamaFish

There have been 43 U.S. Presidents.

Some have been natural born leaders. Some have been brilliant thinkers and problem solvers. Others were simply blessed with fun names.

Like the elected Presidents before me, I yearn to have an impact on the world. I shall do this by rating the Top 7 Fun U.S. Presidential Names.

So here it goes…

1. Herbert Hoover
His first name was Herbert. His last name was Hoover. Need I say more? Although he was President when the Great Depression arrived, his name has the power to make even the most depressed Emo Kid feel joyous inside.

2. Millard Fillmore
Millard Millard Millard… What can I say about Mr. Millard? I would vote for a man named Millard, whether I agreed with his ideology or not.

3. Calvin Coolidge
The name’s Coolidge. Calvin Coolidge. If only James Bond had such a glorious name…

4. James A. Garfield
I’m glad Garfield and friends managed to become the leaders of the free world.

5. Grover Cleveland
Take one part Sesame Street, and one part Ohio. Put them together, and you have yourself one fun Presidential name.

6. Ulysses S. Grant
You would have to be missing a few chromosomes to mess with a man named Ulysses.

7. Chester A. Arthur
His mother and father made an excellent choice.

Honorable Mentions:

Woodrow Wilson

Rutherford B. Hayes

Dwight D. Eisenhower

Halloweelection is Coming to The P.I. Universe

October 19th, 2008
Written by Bamboo Forest

Two very important dates are rapidly approaching; I speak of Halloween and the Presidential Election.

We have a little treat coming to all of you…

Flying LlamaFish and I have brought proposals to the P.I. Council, asking permission to hold Halloweelection (hal-uh-wee-lek-shen). Hani and the rest of the council voted in favor of it; though Octavius almost voted it down.

Beginning on October 20th and culminating on November 5th, the flood gates will open and those brave enough to endure will soak in the elixir of immortality, also known as the P.I. Universe.

On each and every one of these 15 days, an entry will be posted on one of two themes:

1. Halloween

2. Presidential Election

We chose to commemorate these two festive days, because we can.

In the midst of these posts, an election will be held. It is vital that you vote and contribute. The P.I. Universe is counting on you. What…? You thought the P.I. Universe existed without leaders running it? We may be pretty relaxed here, but we’re not anarchists.

If you want to learn more about the upcoming Election, here in the P.I. Universe, you’ll just have to be here when it all goes down… now won’t you?

Each of the 15 posts will begin showing at 12:01 AM Eastern Standard time starting on October 20th. In order to simplify this all a bit more, I will provide release times for some well-known earth cities:

London, United Kingdom: 5:01 AM

Tokyo, Japan: 1:01 PM

Perth, Australia: 12:01 PM

Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea: 2:01 PM

Please mark the event down in your calendar. To miss Halloweelection would be to live a life that is not lived to the fullest.

Please tell everyone you know. Tell your friends. Tell your children. Tell your family. Yes, even tell strangers you see on the street.

Tell everyone.

Cultivating Awareness: The Sure Path to Reaching The Top

October 13th, 2008

Imagine being out amongst the sky and mountains casting your line into a turquoise lake, yet having no way of knowing when it is tugged on by a fish. That’s how we are sometimes, because we lack awareness.

You’re not going to catch fish, nor accomplish your goals, if you don’t have the requisite awareness. With awareness comes success.

There are many factors that increase our awareness. Some are the results of strategies we employ, while others are the outcome of having tried and failed multiple times. Both are valid and necessary in this journey we call life.
