Fortune Cookie

Not long ago, I went to a Chinese restaurant with my girlfriend. Everything about the meal was glorious until the fortune cookies came. My girlfriend’s fortune said in exactly these words,

“Today is a day of great destruction. Beat them or join them.”

I was shocked. I have never received nor seen anyone receive an even slightly negative fortune, let alone a sadistic fortune implying doomsday. To top it all off, it was Friday the 13th. It freaked us both out, and I can’t help but wonder who “them” is.

Either the restaurant has a twisted sense of humor, or we are all in trouble!

Thats crazy, did it happen on the Friday the 13th that just passed?

  2. I’ve received some pretty silly fortunes in my day, but nothing negative. Pretty strange, I wonder how this kind of fortune wound up in a fortune cookie.

I’ve never heard of a negative fortune cookie either. Strange . . .

  4. @ Marelisa: This just goes to prove one thing. Perhaps the odds for something of this nature happening are incredibly low. However, with 6 billion humans on planet earth — it was bound to happen to at least one. In this case, it happened to my brother, Flying LlamaFish

  6. @ Vered: That’s a healthy attitude.

Crazy!!! One of my fortunes told me to listen to what a kid had to tell me. I listened. They told me to take karate.
