VERY nice to learn more about you too!
Haha my favorite wake time is 6:30 am….sweet! Chop sticks rule!
Like yesterday with your brother, it’s great to get to know you a little better too, Bamboo.
I love pandas as well – especially baby ones. There is no cuter animal on earth.
My favorite word has a similar meaning to yours: brouhaha.
And our favorites words both kind of mean ‘panda’ monium!
Cool – I now know you a little better Bamboo Forest! I love that quote, too…
Awesome, now I know a bit more about you, but what is “ruckus”?
Bamboo forest is your real name?! I had no idea.
Are requests allowed? I want to know your favorite movie and your favorite book.
Hi Bamboo,
I love your favorite quote. It’s so true.
@ Vered: Thanks.
@ Tabbie: 6:30 AM sounds like a nice choice, too. Yes, chop sticks DO rule.
@ Scott: hehe, brouhaha is a real winner. No doubts. Heh.
@ Lance: Thanks. I came across the quote recently. It really struck me.
@ BC Doan: Dictionary.com says: –noun
1. a noisy commotion; fracas; rumpus: The losers are sure to raise a ruckus.
2. a heated controversy: Newspapers fostered the ruckus by printing the opponents’ letters.
Great word
@ Writer Dad: Yes, it is.
@ Marelisa: Requests are always allowed. Favorite would be virtually impossible. But lately, “The Forbidden Kingdom” is my favorite movie. My favorite book? I’m not that well read. Though, I’m working on that right now. Here are the past two books I completed, “How to Win Friends and Influence People” and “Your Erroneous Zones” by Dr. Wayne Dyer. Right now I’m reading the first installment of the Harry Potter series and “The Power of Intention” by Dr. Wayne Dyer. Though I’m not a big “Secret” guy, and much of what he embodies is along those lines, I still find many useful things in his writings. Not to mention, one of the reasons I am trying to read more is to write better!
@ Barbara: I’m glad you enjoy it. It really struck me when I read it.
Hi Bamboo: I had to look up “The Forbidden Kingdom”, I see it’s in the martial arts genre. I think Wayne Dyer is fabulous, I have several books and audio programs by him
6am is your favorite wake up time? I cannot fathom this at all. I can understand needing to get up at 6am, but not wanting to. Mine would be 9am. or better yet, stay in bed with a good book and a husband to bring me coffee and snacks all day. Now, I’m dreaming…
And I love the word, “ruckus” too, and “antelope”. I ahve no idea why.
Kelly
Thanks for revealing more of yourself to us.
I (heart) basketball too. Do you play or as a spectator sport? College or pro? Favorite teams?
Me: only watch it, like both college & pro, Lakers now but grew up with the Knicks, UA Wildcats and Duke for colleges (just got into college bb a few years ago). Once a cheerleader, always a cheerleader I guess.
@ Kelly: I love the mornings. There is something special about the early morning. Antelope… It has a nice ring!
@ Linda: I play. You know, I do enjoy watching it. But I just don’t. Don’t really watch TV. Mostly because I don’t have it hooked up.
That’s great you enjoy watching it. It’s very special. You may enjoy this post: http://punintended.com/blog/basketball-is-more-than-a-game/
I like the thought of waking up in the wee hours of the morning but never could quite make it happen on a regular basis. Good for you!
@ Evelyn: I enjoy waking up early. It makes me happy. That being said, I don’t think it is somehow superior to waking up later. That notion seems to be touted on the net, a lot. But – I think everyone is different, and thus everyone will perform at their best by waking up at the time that is best for their unique selves.
And, you could of course make it happen, if you wanted to bad enough!
6am favourite wake up time! Are you nuts? Clearly 6.15 is way better . . .
@ Tara: Your point is well taken. That extra 15 minutes can be like the difference between a steak that was WAY too well done and a steak that was just right.
Hi Bamboo. Waking at 6 is great… when you can make it happen! I’m not too good at using chopsticks but still working on it. Dim Sum is my favourite practice food. It’s easier to pick up the bigger chunks of food
It’s always fun to read these tidbits about bloggers. I love basketball too. Can’t wait for the NBA season to start here. I’m a NJ Nets fan. Do you like proball or college. I only like pro ball, but I guess since my nephew entered college recently, I will have to keep an eye on his college’s team.
Thanks for sharing.
Wing Chun? Do you train, if so how long?
“Inherent” seems to be a word that keeps floating up for me, but I like how this one rumbles around the mouth: “Discombobulated” — meaning to become flustered or upset or frustrated to the point of not knowing what to do.
@ SpaceAgeSage: I’ve trained in Wing Chun for 3 years. I’m on a sort of hiatus right now. It’s my favorite martial art. It simply resonates with my being. Though, I also really love Choy Lay Fut Kung Fu.
Thanks for pointing me to your great thoughts on basketball.
I really liked the paragraph about what a mental challenge it is — oh, so true! And that’s why the great ones succeed IMO — Jordan, Kobe, etc. Much of the game is mind over matter and your belief in your skills and abilities.
Wow, I’m surprised to know that you’re also an Asian. You stay in USA, am I right? I like your favorite utensils… does that mean you like to eat??? lol. So what do you do waking up in such early hour?
