Monday is the best day of the week to take off. Most people will take off Friday, but in many (most?) businesses, Friday is the slow day, while Monday is the hectic day. So, why take off the slow day? That is the easiest day of the week to work! Instead, take off Monday, so everybody else takes care of the hectic post-weekend cleanup, so that when you come in on Tuesday, your beginning of the week is quite easy! Personally, though, I always attempt to get my days off on Monday and Tuesday for that very reason. Many places that are open over the weekend are usually desperate to get good workers in on Saturday and Sunday (which inevitably turn out to be slow days).
